Meriki is using experience in media and storytelling to share their matriarchal story and the lesson within.

Meriki Onus is a Gunai and Gunditjmara woman from Bung Yarnda and founder of Yarnda Consulting. Yarnda Consulting is a 100% Indigenous owned consultancy based in Melbourne.

Meriki brings strong experience in the areas of policy and advocacy, research, and facilitation. Before establishing Yarnda Consulting, Meriki worked in the legal sector for Aboriginal women’s rights for almost 10 years. She has significant experience in campaigning in the community on issues such as deaths in custody, youth detention, racism, ending gendered and state violence against Aboriginal women and is passionate about abolition in her community.

Meriki is also a radio show co-host on the show 'Black Block' at 3CR. Through the Atlantic Fellowship, Meriki is keen to share with community living in Australia the global struggle to end white supremacy by Black and Indigenous activist and organisers from around the world. Meriki is one of the organisers of Melbourne Invasion Day’ rally in and participated in the Djabwurrung Heritage Protection Embassy.

Meriki is very passionate about stopping black deaths in custody, decolonisation and women's issues.
