Pronouns: he/him

Brian is empowering Indigenous people and communities to build economic resilience and create wealth that is culturally reflective of their values whilst taking economic control of their futures.

Brian is a Torres Strait Islander and Papua New Guinea man with over 15 years’ commercial experience including 10 years’ in investments, portfolio management and strategic investment advisory. Brian's passion sits between Indigenous self-determination and economic empowerment.

Brian is the Managing Partner at First Australians Capital (FAC) an Impact Investment Fund building a community of Investors and Investees premised on overcoming systematic barriers to finance, driving a new economy and building economic independence for Indigenous people and communities. As an Indigenous led and controlled investment fund, FAC aims to bridge the financial gap between investment markets and the Indigenous economy. Addressing this gap will result in a thriving Indigenous business sector and intergenerational wealth creation for communities and future generations.

Brian also sits on a number of Boards and Committees including Noongar Boodja Trust Investment Committee (Australia's largest settlement with a Native Tile body totaling $1.3B in assets) and is a board member of the Australian Regional and Remote Community Services Limited (one of Australia's largest regional and remote aged care service provider).

I hope to empower Indigenous communities through harnessing their legal interest in land to shape their economic future and create wealth.

Social change work

Brian's vision is to empower Indigenous communities by harnessing their legal interest in land to shape their economic future and create wealth. Focused initially on social infrastructure ownership, his project aims to enhance the quality of life for Indigenous groups, particularly older individuals, through place-based, culturally sensitive aged care services. His project seeks to enable Indigenous communities to control their economic destiny, utilise their land assets for wealth creation, manage aged care facilities, and develop location-specific approaches to aging.
